Obstructures

The metal stud is readily available in multiple widths. Its ability to span is excellent due to a low strength-to-weight ration and channel shape. Its form lends itself to being stuffed with a fluorescent tube, or hundreds of LED lights. It is a ready-made container with multiple hanging and mounting options. Combined with long scraps of drop plexi-glass multiple diffusing lenses can be cheaply made and attached to the stud via zip ties, bolts, duct- tape or whatever else happens to be on hand.
