Ardbeg

Ardbeg is a bit long in the tooth these days. It was drawn quite some time ago, in between the courses and committees of a nascent teaching career; in the wee hours; whenever we could find some time. And so it still goes. The regular weight was drawn in 2004, and was a winner at the Type Directors’ Club annual competition. Since then it’s gained some weights, the beginning of extra widths, small caps, and the like. It’s likely never to be finished, as the tides have moved us on to other endeavors. But it does make itself useful once in a while, and we’re happy for that.
